On 12 December 2025, first year BAMS students visited the Museum at Pilikula, Mangaluru, Karnataka, as part of their academic field exposure. During the visit, the resource person explained about various preserved specimens displayed in the museum, including different types of wood samples and natural materials arranged systematically for study and reference. The guide demonstrated the identification features, source plants, and utility of the specimens, highlighting their relevance in traditional medicine, forestry, and conservation. The instructor demonstrated preserved plant specimens, highlighting their identification, labeling, and academic importance. Students attentively gathered around the table, observing different herbarium sheets used for botanical study, documentation, and reference. Herbal garden : Students visited the herbal garden at Pilikula arboretum, Mangalore. An expert explained the identification, morphological features, and medicinal importance of various plants directly in their natural habitat. The students attentively observed and interacted with them , gaining practical exposure to medicinal plants used in Ayurveda. The visit highlights experiential learning, bridging classical Ayurvedic knowledge with real-life plant identification and conservation awareness.
