On September 23, 2025, Kanachur Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital.Talk on mental health by: Dr Ravi Prasad Hegde,Associate Professor Dept. of Manasa roga Alvas ayurveda medical college Moodbidri.
Summary of Mental Health Talk The session highlighted the importance of mental well-being in today’s fast-paced life. Stress, anxiety, and emotional imbalance were discussed as key challenges affecting overall health. From an Ayurvedic perspective, mental health is closely linked to the balance of doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) and a healthy mind–body connection. Lifestyle practices such as Dinacharya (daily routine) and Ritucharya (seasonal regimen) were emphasized to maintain stability. Herbal remedies like Brahmi, Ashwagandha, and Shankhapushpi were introduced as natural supports for stress reduction, memory, and emotional resilience.
The talk also underlined the role of meditation, pranayama (breath regulation), yoga, and mindfulness practices in calming the mind, improving concentration, and fostering inner peace. Regular practice of these techniques helps reduce stress hormones, enhances emotional clarity, and promotes a positive outlook on life.
In conclusion, the session encouraged a holistic approach—integrating Ayurveda, meditation, yoga, balanced diet, and healthy lifestyle habits—to nurture mental strength, emotional balance, and overall well-being.
